From Rapid City, go about 14 miles west on Sheridan Lake Road. Look for the small sign directing you to the North Shore and go left. OR from Highway 385, turn east on Sheridan Lake Road. Go ½ mile and turn right.

If there’s someone in the entry booth, tell them you’re going to the Squirrel group campsite to avoid paying a fee. Follow the road along the north shore of the lake — past the marina and around the curve. Look for “Group Camping” and “Squirrel” signs.
